What the fuck!!!

I awoke from a deep sleep about 4am this morning to a disturbing NPR news report.
Evidently about 4 million people have died in war and famine in Congo between 1998-2004. That’s about 35,000 deaths a month.

If that’s not bad enough for you there is full on genocide in the Darfur where 400,000 Africans have been killed.

Oh by the way 11 million Africans are on the brink of starvation on the horn of Africa.

This can be prevented…

What ever poignant thoughts come from this please share them with loved ones and those people who don’t appreciate what blessing they have.

Yeah, the world is pretty f*cked up nowadays. We just finished reading an essay by Virginia Woolfe called "The Death of the Moth" in which a moth struggles to get out of a window pane, but fails and eventually dies. The death of this moth goes virtually unnoticed, but the narrator who observed it was moved deeply by the moths simplicity and its determination to live. Thematically, the story basically says with death comes new life (the new life being the narrators). I believe this post and that essay go hand in hand. Their deaths may go unnoticed, but one day new life will begin as a seed in those troubled nations and hopefully start to grow...

Sorry if I seemed to ramble on! Its great that you're aware of one of the major problems in the world. I feel as though I would not be a great ammount of help, however. Such is the life of a teenager

Well, I doubt I'm as smart as you think I am. Smart people make straight A's and have 4.0+ GPA's. Not I.

However, I like games and I'm willing to go along

Top fave games
1. Sonic 3 and Knuckles
2. Metal Gear Solid 2
3. Ico
4. Sonic CD
5. Virtua Fighter 4

This will be fun, I'm sure

Very interesting....

I hang around a lot of "smart" people and it gets to me that I just don't have that kind of "get good grades" drive I used to have. I personally know the valedictorian, saludatorian, and the #3 in my class and they are just on such a different level than I am. Its as if I'm just that mere mortal to them.... Anywho

1. Sonic 3 and Knuckles- Just pure fun. The essence of Sonic is brought out in full force in this title and its pure bliss. Excellent speed, level design, and a great cast of characters with a decent story to go with it. My type of gaming heaven.

2. Metal Gear Solid 2- Stellar gameplay makes this game great, the superb storytelling puts it on a whole new level.

3. Ico- One of the first games to really pull on those heartstrings. The relationship between the boy and girl is a brilliant concept. The world really felt alive and it was so damn beautiful. The excellent puzzles kept me coming back as well. I would have totally cried at the end if my sisters didn't ruin the moment by asking stupid questions.

4. Sonic CD- Speed. Lots of it. The time traveling was brilliant as well and added a brand new layer to the gameplay

5. Virtua Fighter 4- I like fighting games. I like depth. Virtua Fighter 4 has it all. Not only is the engine itself spectacular with so many intricacies and tricks, but the tutorial mode that actually teaches you everything about the system just blew my mind. I have yet to completely master a single character, and I doubt I ever will
